From today’s Gospel …
Jesus said to his disciples:
“If the world hates you, realize that it hated me first.
If you belonged to the world, the world would love its own;
but because you do not belong to the world,
and I have chosen you out of the world,
the world hates you” (John 15:18-19)
WHAT?!?! But, but, but … I thought we were to do all we can so that everyone loves us!! Why would we say or do anything that caused anyone to hate us?! I don’t get it!!
Unfortunately, “making sure everyone loves us” is the mode out of which the vast majority of spiritual leaders work. This is how they interpret the great commission to love our neighbor. They believe, love means never having to offend anyone … never triggering any snowflakes. Soooo, it only follows that this means never speaking against the dogma of the radical secular religion that has become pervasive in our time.
Jesus is the light, and those who live in godless ways seek to remain in darkness to hide their sins: “…the light came into the world, but people preferred darkness to light, because their works were evil. For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come toward the light, so that his works might not be exposed” (John 3:19-20). The light of truth is painful for those who sit in darkness.
And, it seems, the evangelization efforts of this radical secular religion has never been more aggressive. In the midst of this historic level of indoctrination, any threat to the radical secular dogma is receiving censorship and punishment from not just the adherents of this secular anti-God religion but from the superiors of any cleric who dares to “offend the world.”
There is only one dogma allowed, and anyone, especially clerics, who speaks against the dogma of the world will be punished and marginalized. Efforts will be made to distance themselves from anyone, especially clerics, who dares to speak the truth openly; anyone who dares offend the “worldly.”
Well, I don’t care! I hope my diocese needs a warehouse to hold the hate mail they receive about me from the “worldly.” As Jesus said, in essence: “Being hated by the world is a badge of honor. It means you pose a direct threat to their agenda of normalizing evil.”
We’ll all be accountable to our Maker one day! I want to be found pleasing God, not the world!
“The Church is dying because her pastors are afraid to speak in all truth and clarity. We are afraid of the media, afraid of public opinion, afraid of our own brethren! The good shepherd gives his life for his sheep.” – Cardinal Sarah
