On My Bucket List – Sing Biebl’s Ave Maria with a Bunch of Guys in a Bar

[1]I know this doesn’t sound like a former All-State football player’s M.O., but since I was a child, I sang in choirs. More recently, I have been singing with our Knights of Divine Mercy Schola Cantorum. This is an amazing group of guys, most of which are young, devout fathers having tons of babies.

Along with singing at our monthly KDM Night of Knights, the KDM Schola has sung at a Mass with Cardinal Burke at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI every Summer for the past 7 years.

When I saw this video of America’s premiere male ensembles, Chanticleer and Cantus, who met in a bar, and began singing Biebl’s Ave Maria … I said to myself, “I want to do that!!”

N.B. We have sung the Magnificat in Tone 8[2] in my rectory “Man Cave” during one of our “Pipes and Pints gatherings.” 😉

Here is another one for my bucket list. I’d like our KDM Schola to sing this Gaither version of the National Anthem at Lambeau Field before a Packer game 😉
