There he came to a cave, where he took shelter. But the word of the Lord came to him: Why are you here, Elijah? He answered: “I have been most zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts, but the Israelites have forsaken your covenant. They have destroyed your altars and murdered your prophets by the sword. I alone remain, and they seek to take my life.” Then the Lord said: Go out and stand on the mountain before the Lord; the Lord will pass by.
There was a strong and violent wind rending the mountains and crushing rocks before the Lord—but the Lord was not in the wind;
After the wind, an earthquake—but the Lord was not in the earthquake;
After the earthquake, fire—but the Lord was not in the fire;
After the fire, a light silent sound.
When he heard this, Elijah hid his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. A voice said to him, Why are you here, Elijah? He replied, “I have been most zealous for the Lord, the God of hosts, but the Israelites have forsaken your covenant. They have destroyed your altars and murdered your prophets by the sword. I alone remain, and they seek to take my life.” The Lord said to him: Go back! (1 Kings 9:9-15)
Go Back to what your ancestors knew …
“With man it is impossible, but with God all things are possible!” Matthew 19:26
“And he did not many mighty works there, because of their unbelief.” Matthew 13:58
“’Do you believe that I can do this?’ ‘Yes, Lord,’ they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, ‘Let it be done for you according to your faith.’ And their eyes were opened. Matthew 19:28-30
“For truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you.” Matthew 17:20
In 1917, a Communist Revolution began that would infest the world with “doubt” as to the power, and even the existence of God. Humanity began to lose faith in their ability to call upon God’s power to stand against the forces of evil. This “error of Russia” gave Satan the “greater power” he sought in the 1884 vision of Pope Leo XIII.
Yes, we must “Go Back” to the understanding our ancestors deeply understood: God wants to work through each and everyone of us by the power of His grace!
